Landscaping Around A New Home; What To Know.

Give your new home a unique first impression & lasting value:

Homeowners can often get caught up in the build of their new home and forget to make landscaping a priority early on. Landscaping is the first impression and you want to ensure it makes a lasting one, and one that reflects your personality and that of your home. And importantly, good landscaping for a new home will also add value to your home so make sure you include this as a priority.

What will your new home’s garden be used for?

To start with, it’s important to ask yourself what your garden will be used for – will you be entertaining? Do you want a swimming pool for the kids? Your answers to this will determine a rough plan and style for the design.

What’s your new home landscaping budget?

Budget is also a key factor in determining your landscaping plans for a new home. Set your limit and be prepared to work within this. If you’re enlisting the help of a professional landscape designer, ensure they are aware of your budget and they can set realistic expectations about what you can achieve working within this.

Using a landscape designer

If you do enlist the help of a landscape designer, which we recommend you do, then ask them to explain their process and timeline in detail so you are aware of what will happen at every stage. We also suggest choosing a designer who can also construct as well, this saves contracting multiple trades and ensures consistency and flow. Being able to relinquish project management to a dedicated site foreman is also another bonus – it takes the stress off you and then all you have to do is sit back and enjoy your new outdoor space.
